Clare, this truly is the medicine this world needs. I would say, like most of us in this space, I have a love hate relationship with social media, but my number one pet peeve is the false perfectionism that makes others feel inferior or like they aren’t enough. I am here for the real, raw messiness.

I cannot wait to begin this beautiful project. It’s going on my 2024 list ✨

Thank you so so much for sharing x

Aw Kerry I’m so glad to hear it. I’ve got a longer post planned on the essence and origin of this work coming in Jan... honestly my year long exchange with my friend and colleague Sarah Shotts changed my whole outlook and connection to this arts activism strand in motherhood. It’s a beautiful and life changing practise... here’s hoping you find adding the little heart to the photos of your beautifully imperfect Christmas full of ease and joy! ✨✨✨♥️

Sounds so exciting, can’t wait to hear more.

I’ve already made a start, documenting our floor picnic in front of the fire. I had the urge to move the toys around her but let it all be in the moment ❤️

Ahh that’s exactly it and you know a lot of times I did move and curate things for the fun, texture, colour but I would also see the joy in that practise of play too... so much of it is where we’re at on any given day and I think also for me how much sleep I’d had! 😆😳🥴♥️

Such a lovely piece, both of you. Thank you for this invitation to think on how we honestly document our days with wee ones.

I think my favourite ever photos were taken in quiet moments when I'd been already caught in the wonder of what they/we were doing and then managed to capture it without fuss or staging. One comes to mind of my 8yo when she was 2. We were at the Science Centre in Glasgow and had been absorbed together in sand play. I took my phone out to be able to share and savour the simple moment, and still love seeing this pic when it pops up in my Google memories 💞

Wishing you both a peaceful festive, with many messy a memory captured.x
