Written with love, admiration and community and proud to be alongside
and - I am sure - many, many more. She managed to brush her teeth today She won a big deal and got her own way She wants to be heard and have her say She wants the mean voice in her head to GO AWAY She’s a strong woman and, dear heart, so are you She is devoted to children and creating a home She is devoted to Art, happily alone She is lost and she’s searching but self-doubt is loud She’s a dreamer, a wanderer, her head in the clouds She’s a strong woman, and sweet soul, so are you She strives for greatness, for difference, for change, She works for money, a simple job, is that so strange? She works at home, keeping all the wheels turning She’s not allowed to work and she’s angry and burning She’s a strong woman and, my love, so are you She’s got skin the colour of molten gold She’s got eyes that are haunted, full of sadness and cold She’s got skin the colour of deep, richest bronze She’s got a neck as long as an overworked swan’s She’s a strong woman, and (u ok hun?) so are you She’s got abs of steel, a body of power She’s “got it all” but berates herself every hour She’s got a softness, she’s curvy and round She’s got rolls and ripples and two glorious mounds She’s a strong woman, understand so are you She is Venus, she is Gaia, she is Nyx, this girl is on fire She is God’s child, she is her servant She is her own charge, God-less and fervent, She’s a strong woman, God knows, so are you She is all passion, all vigour and vim, She is quiet and contained, all thoughts are within She fizzes and whizzes and “just never stops!” She’s slow-living, quick-thinking, free from the clock She’s a strong woman, indeed, so are you . She’s got a career, she’s “just” got a job She thinks your jargon makes you sound like a nob She’s obsessed with crystals, the universe and more She loves the data, the facts, knowing the score She’s a strong woman, and I know so are you She was “trying”, got lucky, popped one right out She pees on sticks but no baby, a drought, She cries for her losses, her could-haves, her dreams, She’s got a brood and is bursting at the seams She’s a strong woman and, brave one, so are you . These limiting categories are holding us back Fear of difference, of change, self-doubt, and all that Here’s the truth, can we all just agree She is you, you am I, we are her can’t you see? We all are strong woman, her, she, them, you and me. - Laura Oldfield, 11.11am GMT for International Women's Day, Friday 8th March 2024.

This is so gorgeously Laura. It gave me chills. The rhythm of it, the ebb and flow of it. Not just the words, but the feel, the essence of it is so deeply feminine. Thank you for this.❤️🙏
Laura! This is MAGIC!
Love this expression of you are me and I am you and we are all strong 🙌
